In the Women featherweight division, Bellator continues to rise against the UFC by strengthening their selection. Olga Rubin (4-0) faces the most difficult challenge by welcoming veteran Cindy Dandois (12-3) in Bellator. Our editors recently had contact with Dandois but she indicated that she was not yet allowed to publish anything.
Dandois is 8-1 in her last nine and her only loss since 2014 made her UFC debut last year against Alexis Davis. Since then, she has won five in a row with all but one victory over finish (two KO / TKOs, two submissions). The UFC did not want Dandois to fight anymore. Dandois recently still participated in the try-outs of The Ultimate Fighter for a completely new featherweight division at the UFC.
However, she was not elected and continued the long struggle she already fought against the UFC. By social media she addressed the UFC, but also Bellator, who apparently now has acknowledged that Dandois is a great fighter and contracted her. According to many, Dandois deserves a place in the MMA and Bellato. If she wins, the UFC will undoubtedly rub their eyes in disbelief.
Her only decision-making win came against Reina ‘King’ Miura during the RIZIN New Years Eve show 2017. This was Miura’s first loss of her career. Dandois is nicknamed “The Battle Cat” because of her great admiration for cats.
